Selective Demolitions
There are circumstances where is required only a certain section of a building, interior or exterior finishes to be removed. This targeted demolition is known as Selective Demolition.
Every single selective demolition project is different and requires taking many variables into consideration. Even smaller selective demolition projects require careful planning and attention to details.
A few details that are taken into consideration are the protection of the existing interior and exterior finishes, interference with existing structures and utility lines, careful adherence to codes, and putting together a team qualified on such a project.
Once the careful planning phase is completed and ready to start the project the next step will be to shut down and capped off existing utilities. This step requires licensed electricians and plumbers.
This “cut and cap” process is required to ensure the safety of the demolition workers as well as avoiding disruption of any utility systems that serve other parts of the structure.
